La Esperanza Baja Med

La Esperanza is Chef Miguel Angel Guerrero's Valle restaurant at L.A. Cetto, Latin America's largest wine producer. Chef Guerrero holds the copyright on the term "Baja Med" to describe his fusion of Baja California ingredients and flavors with Mediterranean recipes. He is famous for his "Baja Med" dishes and grilled specialties. If the chef has returned from a recent hunting trip, there's a good chance you can order venison tartare or grilled and prepared as a burrito or tacos. Guerrero also makes Sopes de chorizo de abulón, a mildly spicy chorizo (Mexican sausage) of abalone served in generous portions atop warm, house-made corn sopes, which are then topped with chipotle crema and an avocado slice. The spiciness of the chilies used in the chorizo is mellowed by the taste of the locally-farmed abalone. Enjoy the idyllic view. One side of the restaurant is open to Cetto's vast vineyards and the mountains beyond.
